CHRISTMAS MORNING

Pyjamas, champagne and playing Santa Claus is what Christmas morning looks like in our family. I'm always the one distributing the gifts, Dan takes pictures & Mémé makes everyone laugh. It's a lovely day. Hope you all had a great Christmas.

WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT

These pictures were taken two years ago and remain my favorite pictures of Christmas. They represent exactly what it's all about in my heart - thankfulness, family and love.

I AM AN ELF / 2

First off, this DIY is a little time consuming... It took me the whole She & Him Christmas album to make two stars. Second, please don't cut down a living tree.

You will need : 5 twigs (per star) | Yarn | Hot glue | Scissors/knife | Fabric

Take five twigs and place them in a star shape (the same way you would draw a star on paper). Glue the ends together and let dry (3-5 minutes).

This is where the fun starts. Use your imagination with yarn and fabric to decorate your star. I used about 30 cm to tie each end together. Then I cut out strings of fabric and yarn and glued them around the sticks. You could use feathers, beads, paper, washi tape. Have fun!

IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS, DARLING.

It's always been a favorite of mine to decorate my mom's Christmas tree. We always listen to The Carpenter's Christmas album and dance around the christmas tree. It's plenty of fun and gets us excited for the holidays (even though I've been feeling the christmas spirit since september!!).

I AM AN ELF / 1

For the month of December I will be sharing a Christmas DIY every week.
First up, the tree garland. This little DIY is very simple.

You will need : Brown paper | Yarn | White acrylic paint | Paint brush | Tape | Glue

Take your brown paper, fold it 4 times and cut out an isoscele triangle. You now have 8 triangles (you will probably have more than you need depending on the length of your garland). Paint a pattern of your choice on each of the triangles (I left some blank). Let them dry. In the meantime, cut a piece of yarn (about 5 feet). Once the paint is dry, glue the triangles on the yarn every 8 inches. Let it dry. Take two pieces of washi tape (or regular tape - you can paint the pieces with acrylic paint) and tape your garland to the wall. And voilà!

A SONG FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Happy New Year's to everyone. I hope it brings you everything you deserve. May your hearts feel love and peace. I made a new cover. It's one of my favourite songs for the holidays. I hope you enjoy it. x

OUR CHRISTMAS

We had our celebration on the 25th. It was a very special Christmas. We usually spend half of Christmas with my dad and the other half with my mom. This year, we were all together.
I was with every one, at the same time, eating the same diner and listening to the same music.

I am the luckiest.

A CHRISTMAS CHEER

If I could choose my favorite song in the whole wide world it would most definitely be a Christmas song. Nothing beats the feeling of a Frank Sinatra Christmas tune on the first snow of the season. I thought I'd make a list of my favorite Christmas albums of all time, in no particular order.

Christmas Albums //
1. A Jolly Christmas - Frank Sinatra //
2. Winter Songs - The Hotel Café //
3. Christmas Portrait - The Carpenters //
4. Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas - Ella Fitzgerald //
5. A Very she & Him Christmas - She & Him //
6. The Nat King Cole Christmas Album - Nat King Cole //
7. Wintersong - Sarah McLachlan //
8. Micheal Buble Christmas - Micheal Buble //

Nothing gets me more excited for Christmas than watching christmas movies with a blanket, christmas pyjamas and hot coco. These are my favourite movies of all time.
But Home Alone holds a special place in my heart

NOT EVERY CHRISTMAS TREE HAS A HOME

Made the christmas tree last night. Every year I think of all the people that don't get to put up a Christmas tree because they don't have homes to stay in. Christmas is a bittersweet holiday for me. Can't help myself to think of everybody who will be alone or starving on Christmas day, even worst, all year round. But I think it's important to think about it, and feel sadness and empathy. Nothing will change in this world if you can't empathize and understand. Not everybody is as lucky.

To help you can : give food to a homeless person, give love to people who need it, give money to charity.
